I am a multidisciplinary artist and writer. After years in healthcare, I made my boldest pivot yet, and returned to my first love, art. I strive to inspire others to challenge norms and reclaim their identity through creativity.
I created Disobedient Daughter as a space for anyone who was pushed into a path they never truly belonged in. This is a place to explore, create, and reclaim your voice.
I started my career in dentistry because, like many of us, I felt I had to choose a path that my family and culture would approve of. At the time, I convinced myself it was also my closest path to creativity, a blend of art and science. But as life and the people around me changed, so did I.
After earning my degree, I struggled to find my place in that world. I was never taught how to process or deal with my emotions, and I turned to alcohol and substances to soothe the emptiness I felt living a life that was inauthentic. It didn’t take long to hit rock bottom. I quit alcohol cold turkey after a particularly bad night, sought therapy, and began a long, uphill journey of healing.
Since then, I’ve left my profession, tried a few different careers, and am now learning to follow a path that doesn’t demand I prove myself to anyone, a path focused on simply being. Disobedient Daughter is who I am. I am not the daughter my parents expected, but I fought for the right to be myself. The first step in that fight was disobedience.
This site is a space to share my art, my writing, and resources for anyone on a similar journey. I’m glad you found this page. Feel free to look around, explore the freebies, and take whatever helps you along your own journey.
